SAP PP + Variant Configuration Analyst (Only W2)

Title: SAP PP + Variant Configuration Analyst
Location: Fremont, CA
Key Responsibilities
SAP PP Functional Responsibilities
Configure and support SAP PP modules including:

Master Data (Material Master, BOM, Work Centers, Routing)
Demand Management
MRP / MRP Live
Capacity Planning
Production Orders
Repetitive Manufacturing & Make-to-Order scenarios

Design and implement end-to-end manufacturing planning solutions aligned with semiconductor equipment manufacturing.
Translate business requirements into SAP PP functional design documents (FS / WRICEF).
Optimize MRP performance, lead times, and planning strategies.
Support shop floor execution, production order confirmations, and variance analysis.
Handle production planning issues, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with SAP MM, WM/EWM, SD, QM, PM, and FI/CO teams.
Support interfaces with MES systems, PLM tools, and 3rdparty planning applications.
Participate in S/4HANA transformation projects, brownfield/greenfield rollouts.
Project & Support Activities
Participate in SAP implementations, rollouts, and upgrades.
Provide L2/L3 production support, including incident resolution and change requests.
Prepare and execute unit testing, integration testing, and UAT.
Develop user training materials and conduct workshops.
Ensure compliance with SOX, audit, and IT governance standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory Skills
Strong hands-on experience with SAP PP configuration and support
Variant Configuration experience
In-depth knowledge of MRP, Production Orders, Capacity Planning
Experience in discrete manufacturing (semiconductor / high-tech preferred)
Strong understanding of manufacturing business processes
SAP ECC 6.0 and/or SAP S/4HANA PP

Preferred / Good-to-Have

Experience with SAP Demand Driven MRP (DDMRP)
Exposure to Advanced Planning (PP/DS, APO) is a plus
Knowledge of MES integrations in semiconductor fabs
ABAP debugging knowledge (for functional troubleshooting)
Experience with global manufacturing environments

Education

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Supply Chain
SAP PP Certification (Preferred)
