CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for an IT Desktop Support Technician.

Description

The IT Desktop Support Technician provides technical assistance and support for service requests and incidents involving computer systems, software, hardware, and infrastructure. This role provides both onsite and remote support, troubleshooting issues, managing service tickets, deploying and maintaining IT equipment, and escalating issues in accordance with established procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide desktop, hardware, software, and end-user technical support.
• Administer Active Directory and support Microsoft Office 365 and other cloud applications.
• Troubleshoot Cisco VPN, browser, printer, driver, and endpoint connectivity issues.
• Install and configure Adobe products, Check Point endpoint software, and standard IT applications.
• Support corporate mobile devices, Mac hardware/software, and IP-based telephony systems.
• Utilize ServiceNow for incident and service request management.
• Perform standard device imaging and deployment using USB/PXE and deployment servers.
• Support asset lifecycle management, hardware ordering, inventory, receiving, and shipping.
• Provide conference room and meeting technology support, including audio and display equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, document, and escalate meeting technology and performance issues.
• Perform Smart Hands activities, including equipment installation, cable patching, power cycling, server/network equipment reboots, and remote console access.
• Move, install, rack, stack, cable, and configure IT equipment in coordination with appropriate teams and vendors.
• Provide onsite technical assistance and support for IT infrastructure and equipment.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new hires.
• Maintain documentation and knowledge management records.
• Coordinate customer scheduling, follow-ups, vendor engagement, and equipment moves.
• Participate in projects and collaborate across IT teams.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling business information and equipment.
• Prioritize multiple tasks effectively and adapt to changing business and technical requirements.

Requirements:

• Strong desktop support and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with hardware and software installation, configuration, and support.
• Familiarity with Active Directory administration.
• Experience with device imaging and deployment servers.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and cloud applications.
• Basic Smart Hands and network infrastructure knowledge.
• Strong time management, organization, and task prioritization skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
• Advanced English language proficiency.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Experience providing desktop and end-user technical support.
• Knowledge of hardware/software troubleshooting and installation.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, imaging/deployment tools, and IT service management systems.
• Ability to diagnose issues, follow documented processes, and escalate incidents appropriately.
• Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
