Role Overview
  • Intermediate-level engineering role responsible for planning and implementing process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and standard industrial engineering tools.
  • Works with a moderate level of technical authority while supporting increasingly complex improvement initiatives under senior guidance.
  • Coordinates production processes to meet contractual requirements, operational lead times, and on-time project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational performance and meet business objectives.
  • Promote and mentor Lean Manufacturing principles including IDEAS, 5S, TPM, MST, Standard Work, and Work Combination Sheets.
  • Demonstrated program management capability grounded in Lean Six Sigma principles, with the ability to drive end-to-end initiatives through disciplined process design, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement to deliver measurable, sustainable outcomes.
  • Facilitate and mentor engineering college Senior Design projects in collaboration with Mitsubishi Power Systems.
  • Support visual factory systems and production communication tools to monitor flow and performance against targets.
  • Partner with production management to resolve issues impacting schedules, including material shortages, equipment failures, and non-conformances.
  • Analyze production and operational data to optimize resources, scheduling, and workflow efficiency.
  • Lead and coach interns, supporting their development and integration into the organization.
  • Comply with all safety policies, actively support team goals, maintain confidentiality, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • Five or more years of experience applying Lean, continuous improvement, or related industrial engineering tools.
  • Formal Lean and/or Six Sigma training and implementation experience preferred.
  • Ability to read technical documents, write reports, and communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications and enterprise systems such as ERP, MPR, and BOM processes.
  • Ability to meet physical demands including sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds as needed.
