Summary

Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Systems Administrator with an active Top-Secret/SCI clearance to support KDS and our government customer in Arlington, VA. This position requires overnight hours. The normal shift will be 11pm-7am Sunday night through Friday mornings.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • You'll install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and security patches across the network.
  • You'll monitor system performance and proactively address any performance issues, bottlenecks, or potential problems.
  • You'll administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights, ensuring data security and compliance with company policies.
  • You'll troubleshoot hardware and software issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent recurring problems.
  • You'll provide technical support to end-users, assisting them with IT-related problems and inquiries.
  • You'll maintain and update documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • More than 6 years of proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and systems management.
  • Proficiency in managing Windows systems.
  • Familiarity with VMware virtualization technology.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and security best practices.
  • Experience with system monitoring and management tools.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator).
  • Experience working with technical teams to develop and deliver technical documentation

Requirements:
  • An active Top-Secret, Department of State SCI required to start

Extras:
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task scripting.
  • Certification in ITIL or other relevant service management certifications is a plus
