About the Role
Our client, a retail organization, is seeking multiple Seasonal E-Commerce Fraud Analysts to support its fraud team during the high-volume holiday shopping season.
These analysts will review flagged transactions, identify suspicious purchasing patterns, and make timely decisions to approve legitimate orders or stop fraudulent transactions before fulfillment. The role requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to balance fraud prevention with a positive customer experience.
Hands-on fraud prevention and transaction review experience is essential. A finance or accounting background alone will not meet the requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review queued, high-risk, and unusual e-commerce transactions in real time.
- Approve legitimate orders and cancel fraudulent orders before fulfillment.
- Identify suspicious purchasing behavior, including rapid purchases, mismatched billing and shipping addresses, and manipulated email or address information.
- Evaluate multiple risk indicators to make informed decisions on flagged transactions.
- Help reduce false positives so legitimate customer orders are processed promptly.
- Partner with Customer Care, Logistics/Fulfillment, and Finance to verify customer identities and flag potentially compromised accounts.
- Monitor and escalate unusual activity spikes, emerging fraud patterns, and trends to the OmniChannel Fraud Manager.
- Support efforts to minimize fraud-related financial losses and chargebacks.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of relevant fraud prevention experience, ideally involving e-commerce transaction reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to identify fraud indicators, assess transaction risk, and make approval or cancellation decisions.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and pattern-recognition skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain steady and productive during high-volume periods.
- Strong communication skills and a respectful, customer-focused approach to verification.
- Moderate to advanced computer skills.
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours throughout the approximately seven-week assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with fraud management platforms such as Adyen, Kount, Riskified, SEON, or Accertify.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms and Google Workspace.
- Experience supporting fraud operations during peak retail or holiday periods.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
