Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid) Full-Time

Overview

We are hiring an Engineering Director to lead large-scale web platform engineering across multiple teams and geographies. This role is responsible for strategic direction, architecture alignment, and execution of enterprise-grade web systems serving tens of millions of users.

You will act as a senior technology leader, driving innovation, scalability, and organizational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and scale multiple engineering teams (20 50+ engineers) across regions
Define and execute long-term web platform strategy and architecture
Drive delivery of enterprise-scale, high-availability web applications
Partner with executive stakeholders across Product, Business, and Technology
Establish best practices for architecture, scalability, and system design
Own engineering excellence, delivery predictability, and operational metrics
Guide teams on microservices, API design, and cloud-native architectures
Lead hiring strategy, succession planning, and leadership development
Act as a change agent, driving innovation and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
12+ years of software engineering experience
7+ years of leadership experience managing multiple teams
Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise web platforms
Strong technical expertise in:
- JavaScript, ReactJS, modern frontend frameworks
- Node.js, Java, REST APIs, GraphQL
- Microservices and distributed systems
Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure)

Technical Expertise

Web architecture & large-scale system design
API gateway patterns and microservices architecture
Observability, performance tuning, and reliability engineering
CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
Kubernetes and container orchestration

Leadership Skills

Strong executive presence and communication skills
Ability to influence across large organizations
Proven track record of building and scaling engineering organizations
Experience driving cross-functional alignment and strategic initiatives
Ability to mentor senior leaders and engineering managers
