Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for payment gateway projects and payment integrations.
• Work with stakeholders including product owners, finance, compliance, and technology teams to understand payment processing needs.
• Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Support design and configuration of payment systems, including online gateways, merchant onboarding, reconciliation, dispute management, and settlement flows.
• Analyze current payment processes (authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, chargebacks, dispute resolution) to recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with developers and QA teams during solution development and testing to ensure requirements are met.
• Coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing), create test scenarios, and ensure successful deployment of payment solutions.
• Monitor payment performance metrics and exception reports; identify and track issues to resolution.
• Ensure compliance with payment industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS), risk requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Engage with external payment partners (e.g., gateways, PSPs, banks, acquirers) to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role with hands-on involvement in payment gateway implementations or payment projects.
• Strong understanding of digital payment processes, including:
• Payment gateway flows
• Authorization and settlement
• PCI-DSS compliance
• Refunds, chargebacks, disputes
• Reconciliation and reporting
• Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements.
• Ability to create detailed business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specs, process flows, and user stories.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and document-writing skills.
• Proficiency with tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio/Draw.io, Excel, and SQL (basic queries).
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in e-commerce, fintech, banking, or payments industry.
• Familiarity with payment gateway APIs, tokens, encryption, and authentication flows.
• Knowledge of reconciliation tools and exception handling systems.
• Prior work with PCI-DSS, AML/KYC, risk or fraud systems.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments.
