A rapidly growing data center operations team in the Chicagoland area is seeking a detail-oriented
Data Center Logistics / Warehouse IT Technician to support high-volume logistics, inventory, and IT hardware operations. This role is ideal for candidates with a warehouse or supply chain who are looking to transition into an IT-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform assigned tasks independently and escalate issues during high-volume or escalation-based situations
- Coordinate, prepare, and execute incoming and outgoing deliveries, including:
- Purchase Order (PO) receiving
- Rack Movement Supervisor (RMS) activities
- Execute shipping, receiving, material movement, and inventory management in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Maintain accurate, detailed physical inventory tracking and staging
- Conduct inventory cycle audits and perform data corrections as needed
- Support data center regulatory compliance, certification controls, and audit activities
- Perform secure destruction of Data Bearing Devices (DBDs) following documented procedures and runbooks
- Leverage process knowledge and professional judgment to complete tasks with minimal supervision
Required Qualifications- 2-3+ years of experience in a warehouse, supply chain IT, or logistics environment
- 1+ year of hands-on shipping and receiving experience
- 1+ year of break/fix or hardware troubleshooting experience
- Basic understanding of computer applications and software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Northlake, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $29.00/hr.
