Job Title: Software Engineer 3 - Application Performance Monitoring Engineer (Contingent)

Location: Charlotte, NC (Preferred) / Las Colinas, TX

Contract Length: 12mo (Conversion Eligible)

Pay Rate: $53 - $57/hour (OT40)
Top Requirements:

4+ years of Software Engineering experience with strong hands-on experience in AppDynamics Application Performance Monitoring.

Strong experience with Splunk for monitoring, log analysis, troubleshooting, and operational support.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with leadership and stakeholders.

Experience analyzing application performance, identifying bottlenecks, and resolving production issues.

Ability to work independently as a hands-on individual contributor in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Plusses:

Scripting experience with Python or other automation languages.

Exposure to AI technologies and AI-enabled operational solutions.

Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Selenium, or similar platforms.

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Prometheus, or other observability and reporting tools.

Experience supporting Mainframe technologies and enterprise-scale environments.

Job Summary:

This Software Engineer 3 role focuses on application monitoring, observability, and operational excellence within a large enterprise environment. The engineer will leverage AppDynamics and Splunk to monitor application health, identify performance issues, analyze trends, and support technology teams in maintaining highly available and performant applications.

The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor with hands-on monitoring expertise who can effectively communicate findings to both technical and leadership audiences. This role requires strong operational discipline, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting complex enterprise applications.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Monitor application performance and availability using AppDynamics and Splunk.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application performance issues and operational incidents.
• Analyze performance metrics, logs, and monitoring data to identify trends and root causes.
• Create dashboards, reports, and monitoring solutions that improve visibility into application health.
• Partner with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to improve application reliability and performance.
• Support automation initiatives and operational improvements through scripting and monitoring enhancements.
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and risks to technical teams and leadership.
• Assist with capacity planning, performance optimization, and operational readiness activities.
• Leverage ServiceNow (SNOW) processes for incident, change, and operational support activities.
• Support enterprise monitoring standards and contribute to observability best practices.
