Summary

Role Summary

This position develops clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation for networking and security products. The role creates and maintains installation guides, release notes, user documentation, and other technical content for end users, installers, and support teams. This position collaborates with engineering, product management, customer support, and other technical teams to ensure documentation accurately reflects product functionality and communicates complex information effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive end-user documentation for networking and security products.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other technical teams to gather accurate product information and technical updates.
  • Create and update installation guides, release notes, user guides, and other technical content.
  • Organize complex technical information and present it clearly for a variety of audiences and user needs.
  • Review and update existing documentation to incorporate product changes, enhancements, and new features.
  • Follow established documentation standards, templates, style guidelines, and content development best practices.
  • Develop documentation that supports established content strategies and helps users efficiently find and understand relevant information.
  • Manage multiple documentation projects while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and established deadlines.
  • Work with technical and lab environments as needed to validate information and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Use technical authoring tools such as Oxygen XML, Markdown, or comparable platforms to develop and maintain content.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant technical writing experience, preferably developing documentation for networking, security, or other technical products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts and technologies, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and VLANs.
  • Experience with technical authoring tools such as Oxygen XML, Markdown, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience with project management or issue-tracking platforms such as Atlassian Jira or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager or comparable platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product management, customer support, and other cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment that includes both remote and onsite work.

Publishing Pay Range: $28.00 - $30.00 hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
