JOB DESCRIPTION

Working Model: 100% Remote, prefers EST timezone

Working Hours: 8am - 5pm, flexible, Monday - Friday; Part time/Variable time (20-40 hours per week)

Interview Process: Virtual with cameras on, Possible 2 rounds - 1st round 1:1, possible 2nd round a different team member

Provide structural systems design deliverables which include: structural design specifications, performing structural calculations of different structural components

Perform design and analysis of Nuclear Power Plant Safety-Related Structures in accordance with the following codes: ASME B&PV Section III Division 2, AISC N690 code, ACI 349 code, and preferable CSA A23 and N291 series.

Review, approve and seal construction and fabrication drawings using accepted industry standards

Review and approve designs performed by subconsultant and third-party engineers.

Coordinate design with constructor, fabricator and client to ensure execution.

Develop engineering reports and licensing documentation.

Develop material and construction specifications, including but not limited to concrete, grout, steel structures, general design criteria, and building civil specifications.

Prepare, review, and maintain concrete material, installation and construction specifications, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable codes and standards, quality assurance programs, and nuclear regulatory requirements.

Demonstrate extensive knowledge of reinforced concrete-related codes and standards, including but not limited to ACI 318, ACI 349, and relevant ASTM standards.

Familiarity with applicable Canadian CSA standards, including CSA A23 series especially CSA A23.1, CSA A23.2, CSA N291, and CSA N287 series, and other related nuclear concrete standards, is highly preferred.

Prepare, review, and approve concrete-related engineering and construction documents, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Concrete Construction Plans, Thermal Control Plans, and other technical procedures.

Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, the NRC and international regulatory authorities on technical issues.

Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents; prepare systems documentation using the designated requirements management tool

Lead and conduct design evaluations, and verifications for various BWR structural systems and components.

Develop specifications to assure products can reliably meet all engineering and quality requirements

Work proactively with existing BWR product line and quality personnel through process procedure approvals, process qualification approvals, and non-conforming material disposition

Perform work tasks in accordance with current regulatory guides and industry standards applicable to the Systems and Equipment and the associated components and their interfaces with other systems

Provide on-time, quality delivery of equipment packages and engineering documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Civil Structural Engineering

Minimum of 8 years of experience in energy business (nuclear preferred) or equivalent technical environment
