Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Project Manager - Bioinformatics on behalf of our client in North Chicago, IL. This role focuses on the tactical execution of data strategy initiatives within a bioinformatics environment, supporting advanced analytics and AI/ML driven projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery, alignment with business goals, and seamless coordination across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and drive working groups across key focus areas such as platform implementation, metadata management, and data storage solutions
Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables
Manage risks, dependencies, and priorities across multiple concurrent workstreams
Facilitate meetings, track progress, and ensure timely follow-up on action items
Establish and maintain effective communication frameworks among stakeholders and teams
Provide consistent status reporting to leadership and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
Support the integration of tools and platforms to enable advanced analytics and data workflows

Required Experience

5+ years of Project Management experience
Experience in life sciences, bioinformatics, or data-driven environments
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to translate technical requirements into structured, actionable project plans
Hands-on experience with project management and collaboration tools

Data Management & Data Strategy
Exposure to analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks or similar)
Experience with platform integration tools (e.g., Code Ocean or similar)
Familiarity with R&D or scientific environments
Tools: Smartsheet, Confluence

Education

Bachelor's Degree required
