RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Jacksonville, FL is looking for a Manager of Infrastructure that is responsible for the planning, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Baker's core technology infrastructure, including virtualized and cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on security and automation.
Summary:
The Infrastructure Manager leads a skilled team of 7 infrastructure specialists and technicians, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient operations of servers, storage, networks, virtualized systems, and cloud infrastructure that support the organization's mission-critical systems. Working collaboratively with the Manager of the Service Desk and the Manager of ERP, both peers reporting to the VP of IT, this role requires a technically proficient leader with deep expertise in infrastructure security and automation, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Duties:
* Drive efficient deployment and maintenance of infrastructure systems, removing technical blockers and resolving incidents in a timely manner
* Establish and track meaningful metrics and KPIs for infrastructure health including system availability, uptime, incident response times, change success rates, mean-time-to-detection (MTTD), mean-time-to-resolution (MTTR), maintenance backlog reduction targets, and security incident metrics
* Manage routine and emergency maintenance activities to minimize business disruption while maintaining security posture
* Make prioritization decisions on infrastructure projects, focusing resources on highest-impact initiatives that align with organizational strategy and security requirements
* Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies within infrastructure operations and support workflows
* Collaborate with the Service Desk Manager to ensure infrastructure incidents are prioritized and resolved efficiently
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure management and operations
* 3+ years of experience managing or leading technical teams
* Proven track record of driving execution and delivering results in technical, resource-constrained environments with a bias for action
* Demonstrated ability to hold team members accountable for results and act decisively on performance issues
* Experience creating performance-driven environments with clear expectations and swift resolution of underperformance
* Demonstrated ability to assess and systematically reduce technical debt while maintaining operational stability and security posture
* Significant experience implementing automation and intelligent operations tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
* Strong prioritization skills with ability to focus resources on highest-impact initiatives and make tough "no" decisions
* Data-driven decision maker who establishes and tracks meaningful operational metrics
* Proven track record of performance management including coaching, development, and making difficult personnel decisions
* Significant experience designing and implementing infrastructure security controls and hardening
* Strong background in security principles, threat assessment, and vulnerability management
* Proven expertise in infrastructure automation using configuration management, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code practices
* Significant experience with enterprise infrastructure technologies and practices in large, complex environments
* Track record of successfully managing multiple priorities in environments with changing technical requirements
* Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
