Job Description
Elevance Health is seeking an experienced AI Lead to drive the design, development, and implementation of innovative Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions across enterprise healthcare platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical leadership experience, hands-on expertise in AI/ML technologies, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant AI-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of enterprise AI and Machine Learning solutions.
- Develop and implement AI strategies aligned with business goals and healthcare industry requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, product owners, and engineering teams to identify AI opportunities and use cases.
- Build, optimize, and deploy predictive models, Generative AI applications, NLP solutions, and recommendation systems.
- Drive adoption of AI best practices, MLOps methodologies, and responsible AI governance.
- Design scalable AI platforms leveraging cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Lead model lifecycle management including training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, security standards, and data privacy requirements.
- Mentor and guide AI engineers, data scientists, and development teams.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools to continuously improve organizational capabilities.
- Partner with enterprise architecture teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems and workflows.
- Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in AI/ML leadership roles.
- Strong expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Generative AI.
- Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, RAG, Fine-Tuning, and AI Agents.
- Proficiency in Python and AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and Hugging Face.
- Experience building NLP solutions and conversational AI platforms.
- Strong knowledge of MLOps tools and practices.
- Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, or FAISS.
- Expertise in cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and modern data platforms.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare domain experience is highly preferred.
- Experience working with HIPAA-compliant environments.
- Exposure to healthcare analytics, claims processing, member engagement, or clinical data systems.
- Experience with Responsible AI, AI governance, and model risk management.
- Master''s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.
