Job Requirements:
• The Telemetry/Med Surg RN is responsible for the clinical management of the unit.
• Assures compliance with professional, regulatory, governmental, and organizational standards.
• Assures satisfaction of patients while educating them on lifestyle changes and updates regarding the diagnosis, medication, and discharge instructions, prior to discharge from the hospital.
• Charts observations and activities related to patient care in electronic health record.
• Provides safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population using critical thinking skills, advocacy abilities and ethical approaches.
• Guides and directs assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care.
• Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition and reports changes to the physician.
• Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, infection control and hospital policies and patient care outcome standards.
• Actively participates in Quality Assurance/Process Improvement initiatives to improve patient safety and outcomes, such as monitoring compliance of core measures, infection control practices, etc.
• Collects blood specimens by venipuncture or micro techniques for laboratory analysis necessary for patient treatment and diagnosis.
Qualifications:
• Associate degree from a professional nursing program (required)
• BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)
• Current Registered Nurse License in this state (Illinois)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
• 1 year of experience in clinical expertise to which applying (required)
• Able to work various hours as needed.
