Description
We are looking for a skilled Access Control Technician to join our team in Atlanta, GA. In this contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of access control and video surveillance systems, ensuring high-quality service delivery to our clients. This role offers a dynamic work environment with a blend of on-site and travel-based assignments.
Responsibilities:
Install and configure access control systems, including controllers, readers, and door hardware.
Set up and maintain video surveillance systems, including IP cameras and network video recorders.
Perform low voltage cabling tasks such as pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing cables.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues related to security systems.
Conduct system commissioning, inspections, and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for accurate installations.
Document all installation and service activities, maintaining detailed records of system configurations.
Provide hands-on training and system handoff to end users, ensuring they understand system functionality.
Collaborate professionally with clients, project managers, and team members to meet project goals.
Comply with safety protocols, company policies, and industry standards during all activities.
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience in installing or servicing access control and video surveillance systems.
Proficiency in IP networking, including knowledge of IP addresses, PoE, and VLANs.
Familiarity with commercial electronic security systems and their operations.
Ability to use tools such as hand and power equipment, test devices, ladders, and lifts.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
All candidates are required to undergo relevant pre-employment screenings.
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments, including on ladders and in ceilings.
