Job Description

We are seeking a Scrum Master to support VDOT’s Tolling (E-ZPASS) delivery team. The candidate will facilitate Agile ceremonies, maintain Azure DevOps work items and backlogs, monitor delivery metrics, document decisions and action items, and coordinate with the Development Manager and cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and capable of balancing Agile facilitation with hands-on delivery operations.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and support Agile team practices.

  • Maintain Azure DevOps backlogs, cards, user stories, tasks, and dashboards.

  • Track velocity, burndown, risks, blockers, dependencies, and project status.

  • Create and refine work items and supporting documentation.

  • Maintain action items, decisions, and status reports.

  • Investigate issues before escalating them to the appropriate team.

  • Collaborate with the Development Manager to support execution and alignment.

  • Coordinate dependencies and communication across teams.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements.

  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting.

Required Skills

  • 3–5 years of Scrum Master experience.

  • Agile values, frameworks, and team coaching.

  • Azure DevOps or similar Agile work management tools.

  • Work-item, user-story, and task management.

  • Agile metrics, dashboards, and project reporting.

  • Documentation and administrative support.

  • Root-cause investigation and issue analysis.

  • Cross-team communication and collaboration.

  • CSM certification.

Desired Skills

  • PMP certification.

  • Large enterprise or government project experience.

  • Agile maturity initiatives or transformations.

  • Technical software delivery experience.

Work Arrangement and Interviews

The role is hybrid in Mechanicsville, Virginia. The interview process includes phone and in-person interviews.
