Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineer to work as part of a team that supports satellite communication (SATCOM) activities, in addition to enterprise hardware engineering support. This position is a part of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. Availability for non-scheduled call-ins is required. The job assignment also requires working a rotating day/night shift schedule, assigned based on the adaptable needs of the team. Location: Andrews AFB, Maryland

What You Will Do
  • Operations and maintenance (O&M) of complex software and hardware systems.
  • Report and document anomalous performance and interact with other team members to perform corrective actions.
  • Crosstrain in other assigned areas and assist with the training of other personnel on the contract team.
  • Support test and/or operational activities as necessary.
  • Work in elevated heights.
  • Lift 50 lbs. safely.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in SATCOM, IT Systems and/or RF test equipment.
  • Experience assigning tasks to meet technical objectives.
  • Experience in problem solving in time-critical situations.
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • SATCOM O&M experience (military, defense contractor, or commercial)
  • Experience in Windows and Linux
  • Experience with facility support systems for SATCOM systems (power, HVAC, IDS, etc.)
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or higher
  • COMSEC experience

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
