Summary
Role Summary
Lead the data governance discovery and architecture assessment engagement. This role will interact with client stakeholders, conduct governance workshops, assess current capabilities, and define the organization’s target data governance model and roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement
- Lead governance discovery workshops with stakeholders across IT, Security, Compliance, Legal, and business teams
- Facilitate SME interviews to identify governance challenges and data management issues
- Build trusted relationships with client leadership
- Experience working with financial or investment organizations is must
Governance Assessment
- Evaluate current data governance posture and processes
- Assess existing data management practices and governance controls
- Identify governance gaps related to:
- data ownership
- entity definitions
- data classification
- lifecycle management
- data sharing risks
Governance Architecture Strategy
- Define the target governance architecture and governance operating model
- Evaluate governance technology options including
- Microsoft Purview
- Varonis
- Cyera
- Recommend the optimal governance architecture for the organization
Classification Strategy
- Design enterprise data classification framework
- Define label taxonomy and governance policies for sensitive data
Roadmap Development
- Develop a phased governance roadmap
- Produce executive decision-support artifacts including architecture recommendations and implementation strategy
Required Experience
- 10+ years experience in data governance or enterprise data strategy
- Experience defining governance operating models and frameworks
- Strong stakeholder workshop facilitation skills
- Knowledge of governance platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Varonis, Cyera, Collibra, Alation
