Summary

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary technical owner of the Appian platform, overseeing environment strategy, configuration, performance, scalability, and overall platform stability.
Lead the planning and execution of Appian platform upgrades, patch management, capacity planning, and environment refresh activities.
Establish and enforce Appian architecture standards, design principles, governance frameworks, and development best practices.
Partner with business teams, application delivery groups, infrastructure teams, information security, and third-party vendors to ensure reliable and compliant platform operations.
Review and validate solution designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and performance objectives.
Drive troubleshooting efforts and perform root cause analysis for critical production issues and high-priority incidents.
Support and enhance DevOps and CI/CD processes for Appian deployments, promoting automation and operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain platform documentation, operational runbooks, standards, and support procedures.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of hands-on experience with Appian, including platform architecture, administration, and environment management.
Strong expertise in Appian components, including Records, Data Fabric/CDTs, SAIL, Process Models, Integrations, Plug-ins, and RPA.
Proven experience managing Appian upgrades, platform performance tuning, environment configuration, and capacity planning across Appian Cloud and self-managed environments.
Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns, including REST APIs, SOAP services, messaging queues, and JDBC connectivity.
Experience implementing and supporting security frameworks, including SSO, SAML, OIDC, RBAC, and platform hardening practices.
Strong knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) and application security principles.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
