Sr. Data Analyst to join our team.
The
Sr.Data Analyst will play a critical role in unlocking the value of complex genomic, clinical, and operational data. This role will work cross-functionally alongside Laboratory and Clinical Operations, R&D, and Bioinformatics to drive data-informed decisions that support the scaling and optimization of our MRD assays. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of laboratory data workflows, and a passion for improving patient outcomes through precision oncology.
Responsibilities - Data-Driven Insights & Reporting: Analyze complex datasets related to MRD assay performance, laboratory turnaround times, and clinical validity. Design, build, and maintain automated dashboards to communicate key metrics to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the R&D and Product Development teams to provide analytical support for the design, validation, and commercialization of new early-detection oncology and MRD assays.
- Bioinformatics & Pipeline Support: Work closely with Bioinformatics engineers to analyze pipeline outputs and support the strategic scaling of robust data pipelines.
- Regulatory Compliance & Quality: Ensure all data management and reporting processes align with strict regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO, IEC). Support documentation and risk management efforts as part of a robust Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for our NGS systems.
- Operational Excellence: Identify bottlenecks in laboratory workflows and propose data-backed solutions to improve testing efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
QualificationsRequired Work Experience: - 3+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within a clinical laboratory, biotech, academia or healthcare setting.
Preferred Work Experience: - Exposure to oncology diagnostics, NGS data, and/or MRD testing is highly preferred.
Knowledge: - Familiarity with genomic data, bioinformatics workflows, and clinical assay validation.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks (FDA, CLIA, CAP, ISO) and software quality standards.
- High proficiency in querying and manipulating large datasets using SQL.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R for statistical analysis and data modeling.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Metabase).
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, strategic business recommendations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with a proven track record of working effectively across scientific, technical, and business teams.
Work Environment: - Hybrid (3 days per week in office at the Haystack Baltimore, MD site)
Education: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related quantitative field.
