Job Summary: The Electrical Engineer/Designer serves to design electrical systems for buildings such as high-rise buildings, data center, multifamily, retail/mixed-use spaces, and commercial spaces.

General Duties:
  • Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for various facility types
  • Produce electrical design drawings using Revit software
  • Perform field investigations to assess existing conditions and gather project data
  • Ensure quality control, scheduling, and programming of electrical design deliverables
  • Coordinate and communicate progress with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) teams
  • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and short-circuit analysis

Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in electrical design and construction

Skills:
  • Technical Skills:
    • demonstrated project coordination and facilitation experience
    • solid understanding of power distribution, emergency power systems, grounding, and lighting design
    • experience with breaker coordination, arc flash studies, and voltage drop calculations
    • familiar with electrical codes (NEC), energy efficiency standards (IECC), and industry best practices
    • have experience with high-rise electrical systems, hospitality power infrastructure, and renewable energy integration
  • Adaptability: Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for design and specifications
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Ability to work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Initiative: Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects forward.

Location: Tyson, VA (hybrid preferred), remote considered

Travel: minimal
