To lead and manage data engineering projects, focusing on the effective design, development, and execution of data systems and pipelines for large-scale data collection and preparation. The Manager II provides leadership to leaders and/or experienced professionals and is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams. Implements strategies by establishing operational objectives, policies and plans that effect immediate operations and may have department or organizational impact.

Responsibilities - Manage data engineering projects, including design, development, and execution.
- Ensure that data engineering efforts align with business goals and drive operational success.
- Manages multiple related units or teams, sets priorities, allocates resources and executes business plans.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define data needs and drive complex data initiatives.
- Implement best practices for data engineering, data governance, and data quality assurance across the team.
- Makes recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology.
- Focus is on operational activities within a specified area with some contribution to short-term strategy.
- Applies in-depth understanding of the business dynamics of own division and integrates within the department.
- Executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy.
- Lead cross-functional data projects and initiatives.
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training or experience
- 7-10 years of relevant experience
- 3-5 years of management experience; or equivalent experience as the subject matter lead or expert in area of expertise.
- Broad expertise or unique knowledge in the data engineering function.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Expert analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Expert communication and collaboration skills.
- Requires a comprehensive understanding of internal and industry standards and principles.
- Ability to influence others internally and externally, including leaders, vendors and regulators.
