key Responsibilities
• Define sensor and system requirements (accuracy, resolution, drift, bias, noise, durability)
• Support ATS lab and field testing and experimental alignment
• Serve as primary technical interface with vendors and ATS
• Evaluate communications and system architecture tradeoffs (e.g. cellular, NB-IOT, LoRaWAN)
• Support procurement and phase-gate decisions
• Based on lab testing results, provide a final recommendation of sensor(s) to deploy for larger in-field experiment
Engineering & Innovation Mindset
• Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving requirements
• Values learning speed and decision clarity over premature optimization
• Challenges assumptions and proposes novel approaches
• Thinks in systems behavior over time
• Treats vendors as engineering partners

• Hands-on sensor evaluation experience (lab and/or field)
• Working knowledge of IoT communications technologies and their deployment tradeoffs
• Ability to reason about measurement error and signal detectability
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Utility or infrastructure environments
• R&D, pilot, or accelerator programs
