Summary

Sustainment Health IT Advisor (Remote)

We are seeking a Sustainment Health IT Advisor to support a high-visibility Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM-IO) program. This is a remote contract position working with the Baseline Standards & Requirements team.

What You'll Do:

Provide EHR technical expertise and design/development recommendations for new software products and enhancements to existing clinical systems, promoting system standardization and alignment to model.
Manage and provide oversight of transition to sustainment activities, researching and collecting information on legacy and planned transition efforts across key stakeholder groups.
Review and provide feedback on task order deliverables submitted by EHR vendor(s).
Facilitate collaboration between EHRM stakeholders including solution experts, VHA Tier 1 experts, solution management administrators, project managers, and Deployment, Technology, and Standardization teams.
Ensure deadlines are met and risks/issues are escalated and mitigated per approved processes.

What We're Looking For:

5+ years of professional experience designing and developing software products or major enhancements in a healthcare/clinical environment
Ability to act as a senior-level technical expert addressing systems integration, compatibility, healthcare semantics, informatics, and multi-platform challenges
Experience with project completion oversight and feasibility analysis
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (an additional 10 years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements)
Strong leadership, communication, analysis, and organizational skills

Preferred:

Experience working within the VA
Experience implementing Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Familiarity with Oracle Health / Cerner Millennium
