Agile Coach Skills Both strong leaders and advocates for the adoption of Lean-Agile, Agile Coaches must be assertive about adoption of Lean-Agile processes and enthusiastic about Agile practices and their benefits. They are both educators and coaches, and thus possess great interpersonal skills, teaching abilities, and a capacity to inspire and motivate. In order to stay ahead, Agile Coaches must be self-taught, and they must constantly be updating their information, attending conferences, and continuously learning. Ability to think strategically and deliver both, strategically and tactically on goals and deliverables effectively. Core skills: Ideally, Agile Coaches have these skills: Strong Team Player, having some programming and delivery experience, Showing proficiency in relevant programming languages, Demonstrating strong knowledge of and background with Agile concepts, Possessing prior experience coaching teams in Agile adoption or as a Scrum Master, Having some background or coursework in Computer Science, Scrum Coach certification Scrum Master certification, Lean/Agile Coach certification, Experience coaching at large organizations or Fortune 500 companies

Preferred Skills Experience:

Ideal Agile Coaches bring hands-on delivery or programming experience, strong grounding in Agile and Scrum frameworks, and prior experience coaching teams or serving as Scrum Masters in large or enterprise environments. They practice servant leadership, demonstrate strong organizational awareness, and drive transparency, learning, and continuous improvement. Preferred experience includes technology infrastructure delivery, automation, AI enablement, scripting (Python or similar), and Jira integrations using REST APIs. Certifications such as Scrum Master, Scrum Coach, or Lean/Agile Coach are highly valued, along with a continuous learner mindset, strong communication skills, and openness to feedback in complex, fast-evolving environments.
