Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Machine Learning professional to support data-driven initiatives through model development, experimentation, and analysis. This role is ideal for someone early in their machine learning career who is eager to work hands-on with real-world data and production ML environments. You will use a consultative approach with business segments to uncover opportunities for consumer experience optimization and customer value delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain machine learning models to support business and analytical use cases.
- Work with structured and unstructured datasets to perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory analysis.
- Collaborate with data, engineering, and analytics teams to translate requirements into ML solutions.
- Evaluate model performance and iterate on improvements using established metrics.
- Assist with deploying and maintaining models within existing machine learning environments.
- Document workflows, assumptions, and results for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Decision Sciences, Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related STEM field is required. In lieu of a Master's degree, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in analytics or data science is acceptable.
Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on experience is required in machine learning environments, such as model development, experimentation, ML pipelines, notebooks, or deployment frameworks through academic, internship, or professional work.
Technical Skills: Programming experience in either Python or R is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with common ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, caret, tidymodels).
- Experience with data visualization and analysis tools.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Sagemaker) or data platforms.
- Knowledge of predictive modeling methodology and statistical methods.
- Experience with both structured and unstructured data sources.
- Foundational knowledge of building and deploying predictive models, web scraping, and scalable data pipelines.
- A background in financial services is considered a plus.
