Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Type:
W2 Contract
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Location: The Woodlands, TX 77384
Pay Rate: $65-$75/hr.
Hours: 40 hours per week
Work Arrangement: Onboarding and training will be onsite, with potential remote work afterward
Location Requirement: Candidate must be within a 30-40 minute commute of The Woodlands, TX 77384

Position Overview

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will actively participate in the design, analysis, and development of current and new Drill Bit technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Create Drill Bit Design and manufacturing packages utilizing 3D modeling and data management systems
  • Interface with Product Line Management, Operations, Manufacturing, and Technology groups to improve product performance
  • Conduct all activities in line with applicable processes for HSE, Quality, Legal Compliance, and Cultural pillar

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems, including Siemens NX
  • Familiarity with product data management systems, including Teamcenter PLM
  • Experience with simulation software for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Experience with Drill Bits, including PDC, Tricone, or Kymera
  • Ability to select engineering techniques and utilize analysis tools to solve problems and make sound design recommendations
  • Familiarity with mechanical component designs and applied methods
  • Ability to drive consistent usage of product design standards
