The Senior Director of Information Technology oversees all enterprise software applications and related initiatives to ensure optimal performance of business systems. This includes evaluating and implementing new solutions, managing ongoing system support, and partnering with executive leadership to align technology investments with operational and regulatory requirements. This is a succession role, hands on technology leadership, and ability to present at the senior level(s) C level and Board Level. The right candidate must have enterprise experience with SAP Enterprise. They must know SAP, deeply across modules, this is a growth role into primary leadership. Enterprise SAP in a manufacturing or highly regulated environment. SAP DATASPHERE is a plus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise Applications & Strategy
- Analyze complex business requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of enterprise software systems
- Establish and enforce technical standards to ensure consistency and maintainability
- Approve business requirements prior to solution design
- Periodically review organizational information needs and evolve systems accordingly
Core Systems & Operations
- Manage ongoing support for critical corporate and operational systems, including:
- SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing)
- EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), including the IBM Sterling integration platform
- Ensure systems are properly configured, documented, backed up, and operated according to standards
- Ensure users are fully trained and capable of utilizing enterprise systems
Innovation, Automation & Advanced Analytics
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement
- Leverage automation, self-service tools, and AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning) insights
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure systems meet security, backup, and documentation requirements
- Partner with the CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) on security and risk management
- Support manufacturing environments subject to FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations
- Support SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance where applicable
Leadership & Delivery Management
- Lead and develop internal teams and external contractors
- Set objectives, delegate responsibilities, and manage performance
- Develop and manage application release timelines
- Review designs, development work, and test plans
- Provide regular status reporting to senior leadership
Financial & Vendor Management
- Manage departmental budgets and pursue cost-effective solutions
- Maintain vendor relationships and contracts
Stakeholder Partnership
- Serve as liaison between business, operations, and technical teams
- Represent the information technology function in stakeholder meetings
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred
- Extensive experience leading enterprise technology functions
- Strong experience supporting manufacturing environments in regulated industries
- Minimum of eight years of experience in information technology
- Strong technical capability, business acumen, and strategic thinking
- Proven leadership and communication skills with senior leadership and boards
- Experience partnering with finance, audit, and compliance teams
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and build stakeholder consensus
