Senior AWS Datacenter Migration Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Datacenter Migration Engineer to lead complex migrations from on-premises datacenters to AWS environments. You will collaborate with client teams to design, execute, and validate migrations using AWS Outposts and native services. This fully remote role requires occasional travel to client sites for critical phases—ideal for a self-motivated expert comfortable with hybrid workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deploy AWS Outposts, infrastructure setups, and comprehensive migration strategies.

Develop target-state architectures, including detailed migration roadmaps and dependency mapping.

Execute data and storage migrations using tools like AWS DataSync, DMS, and Snow Family services.

Design and implement network topologies, security configurations (e.g., VPCs, IAM, WAF), and migration validation protocols.

·                     Support traffic cutovers, including canary releases, flash cuts, and blue-green deployments for minimal downtime.

Integrate CI/CD pipelines (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild) to automate migration processes and ensure repeatability.

Required Skills & Experienc

5+ years in AWS cloud migrations, with hands-on expertise in Outposts and datacenter transitions.

Proficiency in data/storage migration, networking, security best practices, and validation testing.

Strong CI/CD experience with AWS DevOps tools.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer) preferred.
