Position Overview

MTSI is seeking an experienced senior level engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency Integrated Non-kinetic & Electronic Warfare mission area in the Advanced Capability Office on Directed Energy weapon and advanced sensor system concept design and analysis across multiple domains. Candidate will work with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers who are leading the future of directed energy systems for strategic defense- a DoD research priority. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating personal leadership, technical excellence, and attention to detail.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to day technical leadership, direction, and management support for Engineering and Advanced Technology projects.
  • Execute extensive managerial, technical, and business experience relating to major systems or programs for the DoD.
  • Lead and execute extensive engineering/scientific support on systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and/or processes for complex developmental and prototypical weapon systems.
  • Apply in-depth practical and theoretical technical/engineering knowledge to wide spectrum of technology issues.
  • Work independently, as a team member, and/or leading teams/tasks to solve engineering/scientific problems.
  • Ensure implementation of tailored system engineering "V" processes with consideration of a program acquisition life cycle.

Qualifications and Educations Requirements
  • 10 years technical management experience in related field.
  • MA/MS in Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field.
  • Proficient in technical standards, principles, practices, and processes related to complex systems engineering
  • Knowledge of and experience primarily with EO/IR sensors, target tracking, high power lasers, high power microwaves, and/or short-pulsed lasers including design, integration, and/or testing
  • Project office experience working engineering, test and/or project planning

Clearance
  • Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required.

Work Location
  • This position is located onsite in Albuquerque, NM
  • Willing to travel (~20%)
