Work you'll do

As a Lead AI and Data Solutions Engineer II on the AI & Data Engineering team, you will be responsible for...
  • Leading the design and delivery of data and AI solutions that align technology outcomes to business requirements
  • Defining architecture patterns, engineering standards, and delivery approaches for data platforms, machine learning solutions, and application integrations
  • Overseeing the build of data pipelines, APIs, cloud-based services, and AI-enabled products across the solution lifecycle
  • Collaborating with business, product, engineering, and delivery stakeholders to translate requirements into implementation plans
  • Leading project teams, reviewing technical deliverables, and managing execution across timelines, dependencies, and risks

Our offerings help clients innovate, enhance and operate their data, AI, and analytics capabilities, ensuring they can mature and scale effectively.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics
  • 8+ years of experience designing and delivering data platforms, analytics solutions, or artificial intelligence solutions
  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams, technical workstreams, or technology implementations
  • 4+ years of experience with Python, Structured Query Language (SQL), and at least one cloud platform: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
  • 4+ years of experience building data pipelines, application programming interfaces (APIs), and machine learning or generative artificial intelligence solutions in production environments
  • Ability to travel 10-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, or Kubernetes
  • Experience with large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, or machine learning operations (MLOps) tooling
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), infrastructure as code, and containerized deployments
  • Experience serving clients in financial services, health care, consumer, or government sectors
  • Industry certifications in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Databricks, or Snowflake

This compensation range is specific to California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $137,700 to $229,500.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
