Lead Python Developer (Hybrid in Chicago or Toronto)

Job Summary:

Dexian is seeking a Lead Python Developer (Hybrid in Chicago or Toronto) for an opportunity with a client located in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities:

• Designing software architecture, mentoring developers, and guiding the team through technical challenges


• Writing high-performance code, building RESTful APIs, and optimizing application performance


• Implementing automated tests, managing CI/CD pipelines, and conducting code reviews


• Working with stakeholders, data scientists, and DevOps to ensure project goals are met

Requirements:

• 5+ years in professional software engineering, with experience in leading projects or teams


• Expert proficiency in Python and frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI


• Experience with AWS (e.g., ECS, Lambda), Docker, and Kubernetes


• Strong skills in SQL and database design


• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills


• 8+ Month Contract (40 hours per week M-F) with potential to extend / convert FTE


• Hybrid in downtown Chicago, IL or Toronto, CA 2-3 days per week onsite


• Looking to start asap in April


• Will be 60% hands-on development and 40% Lead


• Banking/financial industry experience nice to have skills
