The Strategic Defense Systems (SDS) team is hiring an IV&V Systems Engineer II to support programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. SDS supports multiple Collins contracts and is seeking to fill roles across several open contracts - our goal is to align each new hire with a position that best suits their skills and allows for career growth. As a Systems Engineer, you will be a member of a team supporting communication system testing.

This position is located onsite in Largo, FL and requires ship with the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

What You Will Do:
  • Support efforts with cross-functional team members (hardware and software engineers) to ensure system compatibility and performance.
  • Conduct system-level testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and functionality for multiple yearly releases of software solutions.
  • Perform dry run and formal testing (manual and automated) on new software builds in the lab.
  • Support analysis of software issues and enhancements to drive test updates.
  • Work closely with software personnel to document issues found during testing.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Ability to analyze system level requirements and specifications.
  • Prior testing experience.
  • Ability to learn communication and networking hardware and software.
  • Proficiency in problem/failure analysis and documentation.
  • Practical scripting/test automation experience.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Linux knowledge.
  • DOORS knowledge.
  • EasyBI knowledge.
  • Experience in product installations and testing, voice communication systems, including VoIP (Voice over IP) protocols like SIP.
  • Understanding of networking principles (Cisco and Juniper switches), including TCP/IP, UDP, and network troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark).
  • Familiar with Robot Framework and Python
  • Active Secret clearance.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
