Description GENERAL SUMMARY: Delphinus Engineering is seeking an Engineer to support our customers with US Navy tasking. This position will develop, review, and support testing of shipboard and shore based systems to include hardware, software, and network interfaces. Applicants must have experience in the design, assembly, troubleshooting, systems engineering development for shipboard systems, including the ability to work with cross functional teams to develop new features, troubleshoot existing systems, and create, modify, and/or use system documentation and schematics. The position will complete assigned tasking and work with teams including Navy customer personnel and other organizations to provide solutions to the fleet.
LOCATION: Philadelphia, PA
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Support existing systems delivered to the Navy and advise Navy personnel on strategies for upgrading, life cycle support, and maintenance of fielded software and hardware.
- Advise Navy teams on system architecture, software frameworks and development strategies, and optimize development, test, and fielding plans.
- Lead new development projects to upgrade, enhance, or alter existing HM&E systems for both shipboard installations and shore based labs.
- Generate, modify, and review requirements and design specifications and assist with the Navy's systems engineering process for development and test HM&E systems.
- Generate and execute test plans and procedures. Support performance of validation and verification testing of HM&E systems.
- Troubleshoot, modify, construct and test various types of electrical and/or Navy shipboard HM&E equipment.
- Review existing software, generate new software, and correct, convert, and/or modify existing code to meet specifications.
- Create and update technical documentation such as users' manuals, product specifications, and training materials.
- Apply technical knowledge of systems engineering principles in order to put equipment in operational condition and solve complex problems.
- Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment such as network traffic analyzers, digital multi-meters, or oscilloscopes.
- Make recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems.
- Track issues identified in test or deployment to resolution through the product lifecycle
- Prepare operating and malfunction reports and related documentation.
- Participate in special projects as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 1 or more years of experience preferred
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS: - Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical data.
- Basic mechanical and electrical principals.
- Basic troubleshooting and root cause analysis approaches.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Attention to detail and meticulous logging of testing, troubleshooting steps, and findings.
- Ability to collaborate on a large, geographically distributed, cross functional team.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: - Candidates must have an active government security clearance or the ability to obtain security clearance.
- Travel Requirements: Travel may be up to 40%.
WORKING CONDITIONS: - The work locations for this position will include Delphinus offices and facilities, customer locations at NSWCPD, and remote / home work. Visits to client site locations will be frequent, and may be office, lab, or shipboard environments. Work may be performed onboard US Navy Ships (pier side and at sea), which requires proper safety precautions and ability to go up and down shipboard stairways (ladders); work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.

SALARY RANGE: $69k-$81k per year
