Application Programmer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Python Developer - Equities Derivatives - Hybrid for a 12+ month contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This role requires 3 days onsite per week.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a mid-level developer to join a fast-growing area in Equities Derivatives Technology. The team is building a highly automated, fully Straight-Through-Processing (STP) system to support significant growth in the Structured Notes (SN) and Structured Products (SP) businesses. The successful candidate will contribute to the buildout of technology and process automation solutions that solve front-to-back business needs, including pricing, booking, workflow, and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop new features within existing Python services and create new services to expand the overall framework
• Collaborate with other team members, platform teams, sales, trading, structuring, and operations to achieve collective results
• Develop a thorough understanding of the entire technology stack
• Build applications, services, and tools that drive end-to-end automation, continuous monitoring, and exception alerting
• Optimize the Treasury workstream to increase STP rates
• Contribute to future design and architecture discussions
• Plan work in an agile manner with other team members
• Write acceptance tests in coordination with QA and provide L3 user support
• Improve and develop the CI pipeline and deployment strategies

Requirements:

• 7+ years of technology development experience
• 3+ years of experience in the development of front-office equities derivatives systems
• Computer science or equivalent degree
• Demonstrable experience designing and developing complex server-side functionality in Python
• Proficiency with SQL (preferably Oracle)
• Shell scripting and basic Unix knowledge
• Proficient in writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests
• Comfortable working in an agile environment
• Must be a self-starter and proactive

Desired skills:

• Previous experience working with Structured Notes (SN) and Structured Products (SP) is a plus
• Experience with modern web UI technologies such as HTML5, React, RESTful services, or Websockets
• Knowledge of Structured Products (Notes, Warrants, Certificates)
• Business knowledge of Equity Derivatives

Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
