Job SummaryThe Network Administrator II is a key role in delivering secure, resilient, and scalable network and communication services across the campus. This position partners with IT teams and leadership to modernize infrastructure, improve service delivery, and support institutional growth. Through proactive monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement, the role ensures high-quality connectivity and user experience across network and telephony platforms.
Responsibilities - Implements and supports secure and reliable campus network services, ensuring consistent connectivity and performance across wired, wireless, and telephony environments.
- Implements, supports, and maintains core and edge network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wired and wireless devices to meet operational and capacity requirements.
- Implements and supports enterprise telephony systems, including VoIP, SIP, and PRI services, ensuring effective call routing and service availability.
- Implements and supports network security controls, including firewalls, authentication services, network segmentation and network services, including DNS, DHCP, VLAN configurations, and IP address management.
- Monitors network and voice systems and responds to incidents and outages, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Develops and maintains technical documentation, standards, and procedures.
- Identifies and recommends improvements to network architecture, tools, and processes.
- Provides guidance and mentorship to junior staff and student assistants.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications - 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
- Bachelor's (or equivalent experience) and four years of relevant experience, such as working with IP networks and supporting systems
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in related field
- Five or more years of hands-on network administration
- Experience with switches, routers, telephony systems, firewalls, Internet VPN s,including configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
- Experience administering Linux Servers
- Experience with network/security products by Cisco, HPE/Aruba, Palo Alto, and APC
- Strong experience with VoIP, SIP and PRI
- Strong experience with route, switch, security and firewalls
- Strong experience with OSPF and other dynamic routing
- Experience with IP-based Cameras
- Strong wireless networking experience
- Experience with Sangoma/FreePBX Asterisk phone systems
- Certification in wired and wireless switching (CCNA, CCNP, etc)
- Experience in technical project planning, change management and documentation
Proposed Salary56,800 - 71,000 Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.

- Ability to set-up and configure network equipment and appliances
