Manager Notes: We have an off-shore team, but I need someone stateside to do things that our off-shore team cannot. This includes staging data, provisioning VDI's, listing IP addresses, etc. We had a QE lead who handled some of these admin tasks, but she's no longer with the team & I don't have bandwidth.
Position Details:
The Patient Platform Team (within Digital Product Engineering ) is seeking a Senior Automation Test Developer. The Patient Platform Team owns and operates the client App (Mobile) and Patient Online Services (Web), which are Mayo's mission-critical, flagship Applications for patients to access their personal health information, communicate with health care providers, manage healthcare expenses, and perform a variety of other tasks.
We are seeking an individual who can perform both manual and automated testing. This person must reside in the U.S., and will also serve as a liaison to our off-shore testing team.
They are not expected to lead the off-shore team, but rather help resolve occasional issues and collaborate regarding testing strategy.
They will be expected to participate in releases, which occur outside of business hours (estimated 5% allocation).
Required skills:
-5+ years of professional experience in developing Web and Mobile Test automation frameworks
-Hands on experience with automation tools like Playwright, Selenium, Appium, Maestro, or QTP/UFT
-Ability to design, develop and execute automated tests using languages such as Java, C#, Visual Basic or Python
-Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing (Azure, Jenkins, GIT)
-Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Copilot to assist with developing automation
Preferred skills:
-Knowledge on Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and data driven automation framework
-Experience with integrating AppliTools into automation frameworks
-Ability to create reusable and low maintenance test automation scripts
-Implement automation best practices and work towards process improvements

Education:
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required: A Bachelor of Science degree and at least 3 years of experience in software or test automation development, with 1 year of demonstrated technical experience; or an Associate's degree and at least 8 years of professional experience in software or test automation development, with 1 year of demonstrated technical experience. Knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems. Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Java. Knowledge of scripting languages such as VB Script, Perl, Python, TCL. Proficient in test management and automation tools [Quality Center, QTP, LoadRunner, BPT]. Knowledge of SDM tools desired (e.g., IBM Rational tools: ClearQuest, ClearCase, Requisite Pro, Build Forge).
