Role Overview
The AI Automation Engineer will advise users and design, implement, and deploy AI agents to assist with automating internal workflows, customer interactions, and operational processes to solve business challenges. This role bridges the gap between the vision for adopting AI and the real-world execution required to bring that vision to life. You will partner with stakeholders, lead ideation and solutioning efforts, and build and scale solutions into production-grade systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI agents and chatbots to automate internal workflows, customer interactions, and operational processes.
- Build and maintain automation pipelines using scripting, webhooks, and tools like n8n, Workato, or Zapier to connect business systems, LLMs, and internal APIs.
- Connect AI agents to tools for data retrieval, updates, and real-time knowledge access.
- Develop or script to manipulate data, handle edge cases, and extend workflow logic for automation solutions.
- Perform full-stack development using Python and/or Node.js to support automation workflows.
- Leverage AI coding assistants like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot to accelerate development, ensuring code correctness.
- Apply DevOps principles (CI/CD, monitoring, containerization) to ensure the resilience, scalability, and maintainability of automation systems.
- Diagnose failures, refine logic, and improve system resilience.
- Collaborate with teammates to identify and implement opportunities for automation and application modernization.
Required Qualifications
Experience:- 5+ Years in an IT Engineer or adjacent role.
- Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of RAG architecture, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks like LangChain.
- Experience building and consuming APIs (REST, GraphQL) and creating automations.
- Working knowledge of source control, containerization, and public cloud infrastructure.
- Direct experience with major SaaS applications (Slack, Google Workspace, Airtable preferred).
- Hands-on experience with AI coding CLI agents (e.g., Claude Code) for daily development workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Claude Agent SDK and Google SDK for building custom agent solutions.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Rate Range: $70.00/hr - $85.00/hr
