Job Title: MRP Functional Support Consultant

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced MRP subject matter expert to provide end-to-end support across the full MRP lifecycle, including setup validation, execution, result interpretation, and hands-on training. The goal is to ensure not only a properly functioning MRP system, but also complete transparency into how results are generated and enable the internal team to confidently manage and adjust the system.

1. MRPSetup Review & Optimization

• Review current MRP configuration and setup.
• Validate alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
• Identify gaps and recommend improvements across:
• Item attributes
• Planning parameters
• Replenishment strategies

2. Data Validation & Planning Drivers

• Assess and validate key planning data elements, including:
• BOM accuracy and structure
• Lead times (procurement, manufacturing, transit)
• Inventory accuracy
• Review planning drivers such as:
• Safety stock policies
• Lot sizing rules
• Yield/shrinkage factors
• Time fences

3. MRPExecution & Detailed Result Analysis

• Run MRP and guide the team through execution steps.
• Drill down into MRP output and provide clear explanation of results, including:
• How demand and supply are netted
• How planned orders are generated
• Explain underlying calculation logic and key drivers.
• Demonstrate where parameters and drivers are maintained within Oracle.

4. Demand & Supply Planning

• Explain how different demand types (forecast, sales orders, dependent demand) impact MRP.
• Review supply elements (POs, WIP, planned orders) and their influence on results.
• Support balancing demand and supply effectively.

5. Forecast Integration

• Support the process of loading forecasts from third-party tools into Oracle.
• Validate data accuracy and troubleshoot integration issues.

6. Item Attribute & Replenishment Strategy

• Provide detailed guidance on item attribute configuration and impact on MRP results.
• Review and optimize replenishment strategies (Make vs. Buy).
• Explain how system settings influence supply recommendations.

7. Exception Management & Planner Workflow

• Define how planners should interpret and act on MRP messages:
• Expedite, defer, cancel, release
• Establish standard planner workflows and best practices.
• Enable efficient, exception-based planning.

8. Training & Knowledge Transfer (Key Deliverable)

• Deliver hands-on training covering:
• How to run MRP
• How to interpret results
• How to trace results (pegging/traceability)
• How to adjust system settings to influence outcomes
