Job Title Senior Observability Architect
About this Role: At Fiserv, the Enterprise Observability team delivers scalable monitoring, telemetry, analytics and observability solutions across critical applications and infrastructure. As a Senior Observability Architect, you will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of enterprise observability platforms utilizing Splunk, Dynatrace, Cribl, OpenTelemetry and automation solutions.
What You'll Do: - Design enterprise observability solutions across logs, metrics, traces and events.
- Architect telemetry pipelines using Splunk, Dynatrace, Cribl and OpenTelemetry.
- Lead Splunk and Dynatrace engineering, optimization and administration efforts.
- Develop automation and observability cost optimization strategies.
- Promote SRE, operational excellence, security and governance standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring across engineering teams.
Experience you'll need to have: - 10+ years in observability, monitoring, logging or platform engineering.
- 7+ years of Splunk engineering or architecture experience.
- 5+ years of Dynatrace administration experience.
- 3+ years with Cribl, OpenTelemetry or telemetry pipeline engineering.
- 7+ years of Linux administration experience.
- 5+ years of cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- 5+ years of Ansible, Terraform, Python and JavaScript experience.
Experience that would be great to have: - Splunk Architect, Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin, or related Splunk certifications.
- Dynatrace Professional or Dynatrace Associate certification.
- Experience implementing OpenTelemetry standards and instrumentation frameworks.
- Experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, and cloud-native observability.
- Experience supporting Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience within highly regulated industries such as financial services, banking, healthcare, or technology.
- Bachelors degree in IT or relevant experience.
