Summary

Role Overview:
The Project Manager for Finance Systems Projects is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects related to financial systems within the organization. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while meeting the business objectives and compliance requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management for finance systems implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocation, and budgets.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues; escalate as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
  • Facilitate communication between finance, IT, vendors, and other business units.
  • Prepare and deliver regular project status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and ensure knowledge transfer and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in finance systems (e.g., FP&A software such as TM1, Essbase, GenAI, Dashboarding tools).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes and systems.
  • Strong preference for Insurance experience.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with major finance systems (PeopleSoft, TM1, PowerBI etc.).
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
