OverviewWe are seeking an experienced
Sr. Maintenance Specialist to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure, production equipment, and plant systems. This senior-level role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and providing technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, automation, and process control systems. The ideal candidate will serve as a role model for safety, housekeeping, and operational excellence while mentoring and training other team members.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility and production equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, maintenance manuals, user guides, and technical documentation to diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs.
- Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, adjust, and replace mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation system components.
- Identify and resolve complex equipment malfunctions using appropriate testing devices, diagnostic tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Plan and execute repair work using technical drawings, maintenance documentation, and engineering specifications.
- Set up, operate, adjust, and calibrate equipment and controls to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, PLC, and automation-related issues, including machine communication and operating system interactions.
- Install, modify, upgrade, and maintain equipment components, fixtures, and production systems.
- Support equipment startup, commissioning, debugging, and process improvements.
- Understand equipment functionality and interdependencies within production processes to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Assist with the design, fabrication, modification, and installation of plant equipment and control systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and diagnostic instruments to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Operate forklifts, elevated work platforms, and other material handling equipment in a safe manner.
- Maintain inventory and organization of PVC, copper, and iron piping, fittings, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Cut, thread, and prepare piping systems for installation and maintenance projects.
- Load and unload deliveries, equipment, tools, and materials.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe shop, maintenance, and storage areas.
- Generate accurate material lists from engineering concepts and project requirements.
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including proper handling of hazardous materials and waste.
- Provide training, coaching, and technical guidance to maintenance team members.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 12+ years of maintenance experience, or 7+ years of experience combined with a two-year technical degree.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, automation, and industrial maintenance principles.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment and plant systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience using maintenance tools, electrical test equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications- Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, plant, or construction environment.
- Knowledge of PLCs, automation systems, machine communications, and process controls.
- Experience with piping systems, plumbing tools, and facility maintenance.
- Forklift and aerial lift operating experience or certification.
- Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving, and project planning skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, training, and mentoring experience.
