Summary

Description:
Remote

Our client is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead build and release automation, CI/CD platform engineering, and software supply-chain practices across a portfolio of SaaS products. The role will architect standardized pipelines, versioning, signing, and release workflows to enable reliable, secure, and auditable delivery at scale. The engineer will partner with cross-functional teams to embed governance, security, and performance into the build ecosystem and drive global scalability through resilient automation. This position will evolve the platform into a self-service, secure, and performance-optimized delivery engine.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis.

Salary: $140,000 - $190,000/ yr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, versioning automation, and artifact signing across services and repositories.
  • Define and roll out standardized build patterns, reusable pipeline templates, and golden configurations using CircleCI and related tooling.
  • Manage and optimize build infrastructure including executors, runners, caching, and containerized environments to reduce lead time, flakiness, and cost.
  • Partner with engineering and architecture teams to diagnose and resolve systemic build failures and dependency issues.
  • Embed security and supply-chain controls into pipelines, including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, policy enforcement, and SBOM generation.
  • Implement branching, versioning, and release strategies such as feature branches, trunk-based development, release branches, and hotfix flows.
  • Administer artifact management platforms such as JFrog Artifactory, including repository layout, retention, immutability, and provenance metadata.
  • Collaborate with security, compliance, and audit teams to meet regulatory and customer requirements for traceability and change governance.
  • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and onboarding materials for CI/CD standards and tooling.
  • Mentor engineers and help teams adopt standardized build and release workflows.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Experience Requirements:
  • 8+ years in DevOps, build/release engineering, or platform engineering with deep CI/CD automation expertise.
  • Proven experience designing, scaling, and operating complex CI/CD systems using CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
  • Strong expertise in Git-based workflows, branching strategies, pull request governance, and protected branch policies.
  • Hands-on experience administering artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory including repository design and metadata management.
  • Deep understanding of build systems and dependency management including Maven, Gradle, and npm.
  • Experience designing secure software supply-chain processes including signing, SBOM generation, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code experience with CDK, Terraform, Ansible, or Chef applied to CI/CD infrastructure.
  • Experience with containerized build environments using Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming with Python, Bash, or Go to build automation tooling.
  • Experience implementing release governance, audit traceability, and change management processes.
  • Experience designing and rolling out standardized golden pipeline templates across large engineering organizations (preferred).
  • Background in DevSecOps or software supply-chain security including attestations, signing frameworks, and policy-as-code such as OPA or Conftest (preferred).
  • Experience improving DORA metrics and delivery performance at scale (preferred).
  • Prior experience leading CI/CD modernization, platform migrations, or tooling consolidation initiatives (preferred).
  • Experience operating in high-growth SaaS or multi-region cloud environments (preferred).
  • Familiarity with progressive delivery patterns such as blue/green or canary releases (preferred).
