Description:
Locations: Wilmington, DE; Charlotte, NC; Phoenix, AZ; Dallas/Irving, TX; Des Moines, IA; Iselin, NJ

Responsibilities
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain applications built in Smalltalk within the Customer Service technology ecosystem.
  • Package, deploy, and validate Smalltalk applications in non-production environments.
  • Troubleshoot production-adjacent issues, perform root-cause analysis, and support defect remediation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business workflows and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Apply object-oriented design principles to improve maintainability and performance of legacy codebases.
  • Document technical changes, deployment steps, and system behaviors clearly and accurately.

Required Skills
  • 10+ years of hands-on Smalltalk development experience in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented programming principles and design patterns.
  • Experience packaging and deploying Smalltalk applications in non-production environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn complex business processes quickly and operate in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills
  • Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server or similar relational databases.
  • Experience supporting legacy systems in large financial or customer service organizations.
  • Ability to multitask across enhancement, maintenance, and deployment activities.
