ServiceNow Developer (Active Top Secret or DHS Clearance Required)

Location: Ashburn, VA (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week)
Employment Type: W2, 1099, or C2C

We are seeking a hands-on ServiceNow Developer to support mission-critical federal initiatives. This role focuses on designing, developing, and enhancing ServiceNow applications and integrations that align with enterprise IT standards and federal compliance frameworks.

The ideal candidate has strong development experience across core ServiceNow modules, integration expertise, and experience working in Agile environments within secure federal programs.

Key Responsibilities

ServiceNow Development & Configuration

• Develop and configure ServiceNow modules (ITSM, ITOM, HR, GRC, etc.)

• Build and enhance workflows, dashboards, catalog items, and custom applications

• Design and extend data tables, database views, and platform architecture

• Write clean, maintainable JavaScript using the Glide API (Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, Scheduled Jobs)

• Develop and maintain secure access controls

Integrations & Automation

• Implement integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, and IntegrationHub

• Automate workflows using Flow Designer and platform APIs

• Optimize system performance and data quality

Agile Delivery & Quality

• Participate in Agile ceremonies (grooming, sprint planning, reviews)

• Develop and execute ATF and unit tests

• Perform code reviews and manage update sets

• Support CI/CD processes and promotion workflows

• Troubleshoot incidents and perform defect resolution

Security & Compliance

• Follow secure coding best practices

• Support compliance with federal security standards (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA, Section 508)

• Contribute to technical documentation and standard operating procedures

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen

• Active Top Secret clearance and/or active DHS clearance required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  OR minimum 3 years of relevant specialized experience

• 3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience

• Strong JavaScript proficiency

• Experience designing and implementing complex ServiceNow workflows and business rules

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DHS or other federal agencies

• Familiarity with enterprise governance and compliance frameworks

• Knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, and Section 508 requirements

• Experience with ServiceNow integrations and automation frameworks
