Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Quality Engineer (ISO 9001 Specialist) to join their team in the government manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that products and services meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance. The role is pivotal in maintaining the highest level of quality assurance throughout manufacturing processes and operations.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous updating of the company's Quality Manual, procedures, and work instructions in strict accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
2. Manage the internal audit program as a lead auditor and serve as the primary liaison for external certification bodies and regulatory agencies during third-party inspections.
3. Conduct root cause investigations and work with production and engineering to develop and implement corrective action plans to resolve customer concerns and non-conformances.
4. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
5. Monitor supplier performance and conduct supplier evaluations & audits to ensure incoming materials consistently meet specification requirements.
6. Supervise 2-3 inspectors.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Quality, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
2. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
3. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification is strongly preferred.
4. Mil spec experience preferred.
