Job Description:

Retail People Relations (RPR) is a globally connected team within People, Communications & Culture, responsible for providing expert People Relations support across bp?s retail COCO network.

RPR team members partner closely with business leaders, People & Culture (P&C) teams, legal, and external stakeholders to deliver consistent, high-quality guidance on all People Relations matters. The team?sexpertisespans everything, including (but not limited to) general RPR queries, policy interpretation, workplace investigations and disciplinary, grievance resolution, business change (eg.divestments and acquisitions), and support with Industrial Relations.

The Retail People Relations (RPR)Senior Advisoris the subject matter expert (SME) on People Relations in their market,providingadvanced level guidance, handling complex concerns,mentoringthe Retail People Relations Advisors. This role ensures compliance with locallabourlaws while supporting the strategic goals of the RPR function.

Role Purpose

To deliver high-quality, consistentPeopleRelations support across the retail businessfor a defined region. This role ensures compliance withthatregions?employment legislation andbppolicies while driving operational efficiencies and continuous improvement. Acting as a keyescalation point, theSenior Advisorprovidesexpert guidance on complex cases.

Role Accountabilities

  • Expert Advice: Serve as an SME for complex People Relations concerns, providing expert guidance and support to RPR Advisors,BP?sand business leaders.
  • Strategic Support:Lead People Relations initiatives, in support of local and global RPR deliverables
  • Concern Management: Handle high-risk concerns.SupportRPR Advisors in meeting SLA expectations, providing guidance on managing high-priority or complex concerns within agreed timelines.
  • Mentorship & Development: Coach and developRPRAdvisors and/orSpecialists.
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Build strong connections with theglobal team.
  • Policy:Lead the development and continuous improvement of People Relationspolicies,ensuring alignment with businessobjectivesand compliance with regional regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Use RPR data metrics toidentifytrends and opportunities for improvement and engagement. Suggest solutions to problems. Support knowledge creation and maintenance
  • Compliance & Risk Management:Ensure People Relations support aligns with local legislation and bp policies.Identifypotential PeopleRelations risks andshare with RPR leaders. Where possible, provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • LabourRights & Modern Slavery: Complete LRMS actions in line with thetargets set, ensuring that the market is compliant.
  • Psychological Safety:Provide coaching to leaders on promoting employee wellbeing and building a more inclusive,supportiveand diverse workplace. Lead escalated concerns with psychological safety impacts.
  • Psychological Safety:Act as a supportive first point of contact, ensuring employees feel heard and respected, handling all concerns with empathy and care. Recognize and escalatewellbeingconcerns whereadditionalsupport isneeded, andmaintain a respectful and non-judgmental approach in all interactions.

Essential Experience and Job Requirements

  • 5+yearsexperiencehandling complex People Relations cases,includinginvestigations, grievances, and performance issues.
  • Strong knowledge of locallabourlaws and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching other HR professionals.
  • Ability to build relationships with business leaders andprovidestrategic guidance.

Technical

  • Advanced case management and risk assessmentexpertise.
  • Strong problem-solving andcritical-thinkingskills.
  • ProficiencyinPeople Relationscase management and reporting tools.
  • Ability toidentifypolicy gaps and recommend updates.

How much do we pay (Base)? The anticipated base salary for this position is approximately between $90,000 and $125,000 USD annually, *Note that the pay range listed for this position is a genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.

This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 ? 240 hours of vacation per year for full times employees (60 - 240 hours of vacation per year for part time employees). You will also be eligible for 9 paid holidays per year and 2 personal choice holidays.
