Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mainframe Tester to join our QA team. The role involves validating, testing, and ensuring the reliability of applications running on mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of mainframe environments, testing methodologies, and debugging tools.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze business requirements and translate them into test cases.
Design, develop, and execute test plans for mainframe applications.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
Work with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS-based applications.
Validate batch jobs, data flows, and system outputs.
Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other QA team members.
Ensure compliance with organizational quality standards and testing best practices.
Provide test reports and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing).

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3 6 years of experience in mainframe testing.
Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS.
Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., HP ALM, Jira).
Familiarity with batch processing and job scheduling tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
