Description:
- Responsible for the design, building, testing, and implementation of clinical application systems.
- Applies expertise in clinical processes, workflows, and documentation standards to support user adaptation to software tools and solutions.
- Collaborates with clinicians, clinical research coordinators, and other members of the research community to customize the APeX system for research needs.
- Prepares detailed specifications covering clinical processes, information flow, and risk and impact analysis.
- Provides customer service, troubleshooting, and maintenance support as needed.
- The APeX Research team seeks a motivated APeX Research Analyst to join our expanding team.
- Reporting to the APeX Research team Lead and rolling up to the APeX Billing/HIM and Research Manager, this role focuses on supporting efficient and effective research workflows within the APeX system.
- Optimize research operations within APeX by analyzing and refining documentation, workflows, and system configurations to boost efficiency and usability for clinical research teams.
- Resolve research end-user issues by researching, documenting, and coordinating with technical teams to ensure quick and effective solutions that address root causes.
- Design and maintain key Epic features such as Smartforms, MyChart Recruitment Messages, and e-Consents to ensure they meet the specific workflow requirements of research and clinical teams, fostering seamless integration and functionality.
- Configure and optimize Best Practice Advisories (BPAs), SmartSets, and OrderSets to enhance clinical research workflows, ensuring documentation is precise, efficient, and aligned with research objectives.
- Provide troubleshooting and ongoing support for Research Study Management and Enrollment interfaces, coordinating with technical teams to ensure seamless system integration and minimize disruptions to research workflows.
- Proactively identify potential risks within research-related processes, designing and implementing APeX-based solutions to mitigate issues before they impact workflows or data integrity.
- Develop comprehensive test scenarios and conduct rigorous testing to verify that system functionality meets operational requirements and supports user workflows as intended.
Qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years related work experience.
- Research certification required.
- Research + Ambulatory certification preferred.
- Advanced build experience in SmartTexts templates and SmartTools, Doc Flowsheets, Order Transmittal, OrderSets and SmartSets, Workflow Engine Rules, Role/Menu/Activity/Navigator setup, MyChart Questionnaires, Preference Lists, Facility Structure, Oncology Research Studies, Reporting Workbench, Synopsis and Radar Dashboards.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively, train, support, and work collaboratively with users of clinical information systems at all professional and technical levels.
- Detail oriented, with proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on deadline.
- Proficient in customizing Epic workflows, security templates, user workspaces, and dashboards to accommodate specific research requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge in documentation and reporting, with the ability to design and execute tests, analyze system performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses.
